When James Potter finds a doorway where a mirror should be, and a man standing there, he's fairly sure it's a fever dream. Only when it isn't, James makes a decision that changes the entire course of his future.
Fighting to keep the city safe, Superheroes, The Marauders, are doing everything they can to defeat the Masked Man. The only problem is, it happens to be Regulus Black. When James Potter decides to take matters into his own hands, he finds that his arch-nemesis has some secrets of his own.
“But the thing is, once upon a time, this blue-haired tosser with a lip ring told me that it’s never worth listening to what strangers say. That if you live your life according to the opinion of others, it’ll never be yours.”
Teddy snorted, rubbing his cheek against the side of Jamie’s chest. “Man, whoever said that does sound like a real tosser.”
“He is,” Jamie affirmed, kissing the top of Teddy’s hair. “But the thing of it is, I love him. "
Harry has to trust people more than he'd like to, so when a man lies to him about having matching soul marks to get Harry into bed, he's determined to never let that happen again. When he meets a stranger lawyer at the local not long after, Harry decides to enlist his family's help to tell whether or not Draco Malfoy really does have a matching mark or not. If only his family wasn't so, utterly hopeless.
When Harry wakes up in an alternate timeline--a timeline where Voldemort was defeated long before the first war--he discovers everything is different. His parents, his godfather, his friends--and him. Harry must deal with the consequences of who he would have been if he had been raised by his parents, and figure out where he stands with his casual hook up, Draco Malfoy.
